Downloading videos from YouTube-directly

You miight have heard of sites like these-keepvid.com,downthisvideo.com..the list goes on.All these sites provide you with links in order to download vids from streaming sites.If you're comfortable with using them,no problem.But if you wanna learn a cool way to down vids from youtube and similar sites,read on :)

All you need to have is a Browser,like IE or Firefox.I'm perfectly okay with using keepvid.com,but I'm that sort of guy who doesn't depend on others-so I download vids using this method nowadays.

We'll consider this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN6wXyFUR-c

STEPS:

1.First,copy down this link:

2.Make a new bookmark in your browser.Do this by going to Bookmarks menu,right click on any folder and select new bookmark.
3.In the
-"Name" field,give an appropriate name(that means its your choice)
-"Location" field,paste the googlevideo cache link I've given in step 1.
-"keyword" field,give an appropriate keyword.You'll be using this keyword for downloading vids.For this instance,I'll give the keyword "download" (without quotes).

There,you've just created a new bookmark that you'll be using to download vids.

4.Now we'll come back to our YouTube link.

Every such link has a unique ID.In this case its "xN6wXyFUR-c" i.e, the string of characters after the "v=" meta word. Copy this string by selecting it and pressing Ctrl+C.

5.Now open a new window/tab.In the address bar,you'll need to type the KEYWORD WHICH YOU GAVE(while making the new bookmark) followed by the YouTube video ID.If you remember it was "download" in my example.
So I'll just type this in the address bar:

download xN6wXyFUR-c

Press Enter.You'll be prompted to download the video.
